St. Mary Parish authorities are asking for the public to help them in locating an alleged thief who caused a crash on the US 90 Bridge.
The incident started early on May 3, when someone stole an orange Kubota ATV side-by-side and a black Honda 500 ATV with chrome racks from a location on Berwick South Road. The thief loaded the stolen vehicles onto a trailer attached to a truck, and headed east on the bridge, police say.
As the alleged thief lost control of the vehicle while on the bridge, and the Kubota ATV fell off the trailer, causing a crash involving several other vehicles.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored extended cab truck with chrome step bars. The truck was pulling a black tandem axle trailer with a spare tire mounted on the passenger side.
The trailer or truck could have damages from striking the side of the Hwy 90 bridge.
