Patterson's Cypress Sawmill Festival has been canceled indefinitely.
The Daily Review in Morgan City reports that the festival board decided to unanimously call off the event this years, with no plans yet on if it will return.
Over the past several years, the festival has suffered financially from rained out days which has caused officials to cancel. 2019 saw the festival canceled after flash floods threatened the area.
The festival takes place during the first week of April and was started in 1990. It began as a way to raise funds for the Wedell-Williams Aviation and Cypress museum and Kemper Williams Park both located in Patterson.
