Deputies have identified the man killed today in a shooting in Baldwin.
Brian Gibson Jr., 23, was found wounded on Main Street, a spokesman for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office says.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Detectives with the SMPSO Investigations Section were called in to handle the investigation.
During the investigation, Anthony Hills was developed as the suspect in the shooting and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. Contact was made with Hills and he turned himself in to the Jeanerette Marshal’s Office. Hills was arrested, charged with second-degree murder, and transported to the Iberia Parish Jail. Bail has been set at $1 million.
