A Morgan City man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing on Monday.
Police say 39-year-old Darell Gash was arrested on aggravated second-degree battery and obstruction of justice charges following a stabbing incident on Monday afternoon.
According to an arrest report, police were called to a residence on Highway 182 for medical assistance. Upon arriving, officers say they found a man with several lacerations on his arms, legs and torso.
Gash was identified as the suspect in the stabbing. Police say he allegedly approached the victim and hit them several times before producing a knife and stabbing them. He then left the scene, according to police.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Morgan City Police were able to locate Gash at a residence on Federal Avenue and he was taken into custody.
Gash has been booked into the Morgan City Jail.
