Louisiana NAACP releases statement on investigation into death of Baldwin teen

The Louisiana NAACP is demanding answers and accountability as the investigation into the death of a Baldwin 15-year-old.

The organization released the following statement:

"The Louisiana NAACP extends its condolences to the family and friends of 15-year old Quawan “Bobby” Charles. We demand accountability and transparency with regards to the processes and procedures followed by law enforcement officials in the unusual circumstances surrounding in his death. We ask the Louisiana State Police, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to work with local law enforcement officials as we seek to find answers."

"Our hearts go out to the grieving family who lost their young son too soon, and we will continue to provide our resources and support."

KATC recently obtained police reports from Oct. 30 when 15-year-old Quawan “Bobby” Charles was reported missing from his home in Baldwin and was found dead four days later near Loreauville. For more on the emerging details, click here
