PATTERSON, La. - The latest exhibition at the Wedell-Williams Aviation & Cypress Sawmill Museum in Patterson will open August 23 and focus on the shrimp industry.
The exhibit, "From Berwick Bay to Etouffee: Shrimping in Louisiana," explores the shrimp boom in the 1930s and 1940s when Morgan City was the self-proclaimed "Shrimp Capitol of the World."
The documentary also focuses on the challenges that face contemporary shrimp freshman.
The event will be held from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at 118 Cotton Road in Patterson.
