Last minute preps in Morgan City

Baton Rouge ABC affiliate WBRZ was in Morgan City talking with folks picking up last-minute supplies at a local store.

Geneva Allen and their family, fleeing Lake Charles, ended up in a Morgan City motel. The city’s still expecting tropical storm winds and some rain.

The mayor says he’s not too worried about the water, because of the city’s sea wall. But a year ago, a tropical storm kept the city in the dark for three days, Boo Grizzaffi said.

Melissa Guillory was at the store picking up some last minute supplies. She said her family is prepared, but is still hoping it won’t be as bad as predicted.
