Hydraulic oil spill from garbage truck closes Franklin roads

The Franklin Fire Department has closed several streets Friday morning due to a large hydraulic oil spill caused by a garbage truck.

The department is asking drivers to avoid the area of Barrow Street from Lee Charles Street to Plantation Drive due to the spill.

The roadway is currently shut down.

A cleaning crew from Pelican who owns the garbage truck in en route to the scene, according to officials.

The roadway is expected to remain closed until clean up is complete.
