Franklin Police arrest Lake Charles man for social media threats

Franklin Police have booked a Lake Charles man, accusing him of inciting a riot on social media.

Donald Derouen, Jr., 29, was booked late Wednesday with terrorizing, communication of false information of planned arson, and inciting a riot. Derouen was additionally arrested on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charges of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and simple battery, and a warrant for probation violation.

As of this morning, no bond has been set for his release.

Derouen is accused of posting a threatening message involving area neighborhoods and police officers, KWBJ reports.

On Saturday, Franklin investigators received a tip that a the suspect posted a message to Facebook inciting criminal activity. A second post was uploaded on Sunday showing an image of a police car and an individual with a gun.
