Four men were arrested Tuesday night by the Franklin Police Department on illegal narcotics and weapons charges.
Officers say that on August 18 they received information that a person wanted by the police department was located at a residence on Ninth Street in Franklin.
Upon arrival, officers walked to the rear of the home and say they observed illegal narcotics and weapons in plain view.
Four men at the residence were arrested. Police say one subject fled the scene on foot.
A total of six weapons and illegal narcotics were located at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
The four suspects were arrested and booked on the following:
- Darien Mitchell, 23, of New Iberia was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia - 2 counts, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, possession of schedule I narcotics (marijuana), possession of schedule I narcotics with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a firearm - 6 counts, and possession of a stolen firearm. Mitchell was booked, processed, and held with no bond set.
- Dereke Guilbeau, Jr., 23, of Franklin was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia - 2 counts, possession of schedule I narcotics (marijuana), contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile - 2 counts, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a firearm - 6 counts. Guilbeau was booked, processed, and released on a $7,500 bond.
- Davien Burrell, 19, of Jeanerette was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a firearm - 6 counts, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile - 2 counts, possession of drug paraphernalia - 2 counts, possession of schedule I narcotics (marijuana), and possession of a stolen firearm. Burrell was booked, processed, and held with no bond set.
- Devin Allen, 19, of Jeanerette was arrested on charges of possession of schedule I narcotics (marijuana), possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a firearm - 6 counts, possession of a stolen firearm, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile - 2 counts, and possession of drug paraphernalia - 2 counts. Allen was booked, processed, and held with no bond set.
