A Franklin Church will present "Blessing of the Animals" Sunday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m.

St Mary's Episcopal Church will have a worship service outdoors celebrating animals.

Each fall, the church blesses animals to commemorate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

Pets will be blessed as individuals, along with their humans. The church says stuffed animals are welcome, too.

At the owner's request, pets who cannot attend may be blessed in absentia

The event will be held in front of St. Mary's Church on the brick area.

Refreshments will be served for pets.

Call (337) 828-0918 for more information.

Pets must be leashed, and humans must wear a mask.
