Cajun Coast holding Mardi Gras scavenger hunt in February

To keep the spirit of Mardi Gras alive in St. Mary Parish, the Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau will host a Mardi Gras Scavenger Hunt this carnival season.

The hunt begins on Friday, February 5 and ends on Mardi Gras Day, Tuesday, February 16.

Officials say it is free to participate.

The Cajun Coast Mardi Gras Scavenger Hunt includes over 80 missions that are associated with Mardi Gras.

The Cajun Coast says that groups of no more than eight may participate and missions may take hours or minutes to complete

To participate one person (18 or older) in the group will need to download the Goose Chase App and then download the Cajun Coast Mardi Gras Game.

Missions can be completed and documented by picture or video to collect points.

The Cajun Coast says they reserve the right to add or subtract points based on the spirit of the mission.

Winning teams will receive the following prizes:

  • 1st place includes gift cards and cash valued at $900.00
  • 2nd place, gift cards and cash valued at $400.00
  • 3rd place gift cards and cash valued at $275.00
