The entire town of Baldwin is now under a boil water advisory until further notice.

The town experienced problems with their water supply system due to a broken water main. The water was shut off on Wednesday December 11, to make repairs to a major leak in a main water line.

Crews with Baldwin Public Works were on scene of the leak which happened near Orphan Home Road and Main Street

The water for the town has now been restored, according to officials but a boil advisory is being put in place

This advisory will remain in effect until rescinded by the Town of Baldwin.

All consumers are encouraged to disinfect their water before consuming it, making ice, brushing teeth, rinsing of food or using it for food preparation by following the procedure below:

Boil water for one one full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)
