ST. MARTIN PARISH — Strong storms blew through Acadiana on Wednesday night, bringing with them damage for parts of St. Martin Parish.

The KATC weather teams say that reports of damage from last night's storm spread from Parks to Breaux Bridge. Chief Meteorologist Rob Perillo says the National Weather Service has surveyed the damage in St. Martin Parish and confirmed a tornado touched down between Parks and Breaux Bridge on Grand Bois Road. The tornado was either a high end EF1 or low end EF2, with roughly 110 mph winds or higher, depending on the final evaluation. Damage followed pea-size hail.

Some of that hail in the photos provided by viewers had melted together to form larger chunks after hitting the ground. Those photos can be seen below.

A single-wide mobile home was rolled over and completely destroyed, but was not occupied at the time. No injuries have been reported with the severe storm.

An official damage report from the NWS is forthcoming, Perillo adds.

KATC's Bradley Benoit was in St. Martin Parish Thursday afternoon to survey the damage:
