A free Thanksgiving meal was served to those who needed it today in St. Martinville.
Mother's Cafe VII and Nursing Specialities Home Health and Hospice teamed up for the event.
A free meal was prepared and served to anyone who needed it. To keep everyone safe, plates were served curbside, masks were required and social distancing was enforced.
Organizers say the event was just to spread a little happiness during some difficult times.
"During this COVID, right now, everybody is going through a little bit of a tough time," said Thea Zeno, owner of Mother's Cafe VII. "Just a bright light to be in their day, you know? To give back and say 'thank you for all the things you do for us.'"
