The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is suing to restore public access to Lake Martin.
According to our partners at The Advocate, the lawsuit names 11 property owners as defendants.
The suit asks the court to declare either that the state owns the public right-of-way at the lake, or that the state has a servitude at the traditional public access point.
The 11 owners named as defendants in the lawsuit are heirs to the property where the boat launch is located.
