The St. Martinville City Council will discuss potential layoffs today at a meeting.
The meeting will be held via telephone at 5:30 p.m.
Mayor Melinda Mitchell said she and the council need to discuss the possibility of laying off employees because the city's income is so reduced. The city relies on sales tax income to operate, and that has dropped, she said.
The public can submit comments by sending them via email to lpoirier@stmartinville.net prior to 3 p.m. today. Include your contact number in the email, so the council can call you, the mayor says.
