ST. MARTINVILLE, La. - The St. Martinville Police Department participated in National Coffee With a Cop Day today, meeting with residents at the local McDonald's.
The event allows residents to engage with officers in a relaxed environment.
Coffee with a Cop events are now held in all 50 states and it is one of the most successful community oriented policing programs across the country.
Today's event was a joint effort by the St. Martinville Police Department and Miller Management.
"This has been the first event where people are actually bringing ideas to the coffee with a cop event so I have heard some really great ideas that we can implement in our community today while having coffee with our community," said Adam Touchet, PIO of St Martinville PD.
