St. Martinville man arrested on drug charges

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. — The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office announced on Friday that it has arrested Marcus Bourda, 41, of St. Martinville on multiple drug charges.

According to SMPSO, that deputies were following a report of suspected illegal drug activity at a residence in the 1400 block of Boon Lasseigne Road in St. Martinville.

While traveling to the residence to execute a search warrant, SMPSO say deputies observed a vehicle driving recklessly and initiated a traffic stop .

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Bourda, and SMPSO say that deputies then learned that he was traveling to the same residence as listed on the narcotics search warrant.

Bourda was taken into custody on the following charges:

  • LA. R.S. 40:966A; Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (MDMA)
  • LA. R.S. 40:967A; Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine) – More than 28 grams
  • LA. R.S. 40:967A; Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Hydrocodone)
  • LA. R.S. 40:967A; Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Cocaine HCL)
  • LA. R.S. 40:1041; Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses
  • LA. R.S. 32:81; Following vehicles

Bourda was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the charges.

SMPSO say that at the time of this release, no bond had been set.
