A St. Martinville employee has been arrested, accused of sexual battery.
Police say 54-year-old Cassius Bourda was arrested following a complaint filed which implicated him of committing sexual battery.
Details of the incident were not released but Bourda went in for questioning with police and after an investigation, was arrested.
He was booked into the St. Martin Parish jail on a $30,000 bond.
Bourda works as a lineman for the City of St. Martinville's electric department. KATC spoke with Public Works Director Brian Touchet who says he is unsure of the employment status of Bourda at this time.
Mayor Melinda Mitchell tells KATC that a determination on his employment has not been made.
