No Wake Zone for Lower St. Martin Parish ending this week

The St. Martin Parish sheriff's Office says that the No Wake Zone in effect for Lower St. Martin Parish will be ending this week.

Officials say the zone will be rescinded on Wednesday morning June 17, 2020. The No Wake Zone that was put into effect for Lower St. Martin (Stephensville and Belle River) on April 3, 2020.

The sheriff's office is still encouraging boaters to stay home due to the precautionary measures in place for COVID-19. "If you must travel on the water, please remember to follow the safe distancing guidelines for occupants on your boat," the sheriff's office says.
