Police say an arrest has been made in the death of a Breaux Bridge 4-month-old.
Breaux Bridge Assistant Chief Terry Latiolais says that 28-year-old Dominique Howard was arrested in connection with the death.
Latiolais said police are awaiting the results of testing and an autopsy which were performed to determine the child's cause of death.
Howard is identified as the mother of the child, a girl. Police tell us the four-month-old was the only child in the house with Howard.
Police began investigating the death which occurred on Sunday, February 9.
Howard was booked on the following charges:
- Negligent Homicide
- Possession of Schedule I Narcotics (marijuana)
- Illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile
