Breaux Bridge Police say the man arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in the city has been formally charged.
31-year-old Nathan Simon was booked on charges of First Degree Murder, 2 counts Attempted First Degree Murder, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
On November 9, 2020, The Breaux Bridge Police Department responded to a call-in reference to shots fired at a residence in the 600 block of Velma Circle.
Upon arrival it was discovered that three people who live inside the residence had been shot. One person identified as 53-year-old Roxanne Hawthorne was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two others, a man and a woman were transported to a local hospital listed in critical/stable condition. Simon was developed as a suspect following an investigation.
Simon turned himself in to local authorities where he was arrested on several outstanding warrants.
