ST MARTIN PARISH — A Breaux Bridge man has been arrested, accused of cruelty to juveniles after alleged physical abuse of an infant resulted in broken bones.

St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux says that on December 25, 2020, deputies responded to a local hospital in reference to a report of alleged physical abuse of an infant.

An investigation into the allegations was initiated, and during the course of the investigation, Breaux says that deputies learned that the infant had sustained several broken bones. Following that investigation an arrest warrant was obtained for 25-year-old Cole Horton of Breaux Bridge.

On Thursday, January 14, 2021, following the execution of the warrant, Horton was arrested and charged with one count of Second Degree Cruelty to Juveniles.

Following his arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. No bond has been set.
