BREAUX BRIDGE, La. — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced the I-10 eastbound entrance ramp at Exit 109 (Breaux Bridge) will be closed on the following nights, weather permitting:

• Thursday, December 17 at 8:00 p.m. until Friday, December 18 at 1:00 a.m.

• Friday, December 18 at 8:00 p.m. until Saturday, December 19 at 1:00 a.m.

• Saturday, December 19 at 8:00 p.m. until Sunday, December 20 at 1:00 a.m.

• Sunday, December 20 at 8:00 p.m. until Monday, December 21 at 1:00 a.m.

This closure is necessary to allow crews to construct the inside shoulder of the ramp.

The detour for eastbound traffic is I-10 westbound to Exit 104 (LA Avenue) then back onto I-10 eastbound.

Emergency vehicles will not have access to the area.

The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to LA 328 (Breaux Bridge).

The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in March 2021.
