Complaints lead to arrest of two Breaux Bridge men on multiple drug charges

Two Breaux Bridge men have been arrested on multiple drug charges following an investigation by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say they received several complaints of suspected illegal narcotics activity around the 1000 block of Bill Clause Drive in Breaux Bridge.

On Wednesday, October 2, the department say their narcotics agents began an investigation.

A search warrant was obtained and agents say that several suspected narcotics were recovered at a residence.

Deputies say suspected heroin, methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy), cocaine HCL, “crack cocaine”, crack cocaine manufacturing laboratory, prescription medication (including oxycodone), a handgun, drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency were among the items discovered.

According to police, marijuana and various other items were also located at the residence.

40-year-old Lawrence Ames and 40-year-old Issac Julian both of Breaux Bridge were arrested and booked on the following charges:

  • Maufacture, Distribution, PWITD Schedule II CDS (Cocaine Base)
  • Maufacture, Distribution, PWITD Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine)
  • Maufacture, Distribution, PWITD Schedule II CDS (Oxycodone)
  • Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS (7 Counts)
  • Possession of a Firearm/Concealed by Convicted Felon
  • Creation/Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory
  • Criminal Conspiracy
  • Keeping a Disorderly Place
  • Letting a Disorderly Place
  • Possession of Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine)
  • Simple Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Transactions Involving Proceeds From Drug Offenses

Ames' bond has been set at $68,000.

Julian was also arrested for two (2) active arrest warrants. His bond is set at $54,000.

Police say an investigation is ongoing. More arrests are expected to be made.
