A social media post has landed a Breaux Bridge Police Officer in hot water.

"We strongly disagree with and condemn what was said in that post," said Asst. Chief Terry Latiolais. "There will be disciplinary action."

In question is a post, since removed, on the Facebook wall of a man who identifies himself as a lieutenant in the Breaux Bridge Police Department.

The post has been removed and KATC has seen only screenshots, but Latiolais confirmed that the post was there and at this time all evidence indicates that the officer did post it.

It states "you don't see them burning the unemployment office or the food stamp office."

This afternoon, that post is gone and another is there that states "So regarding the last post I posted, yes I should not have put that and I deleted it immediately. Everyone knows I’m not racists. I treat everyone equally. For that I deeply apologize."

Latiolais said an investigation is underway and there will be disciplinary action against the officer if that investigation finds he did post that comment.
