A bid for a project on I-10 in St. Martin Parish has been awarded and work is set to begin next year.
DOTD says that Gilchrist Construction of Jeanerette was awarded the bid on the project which will cost $87.7 million. Bids opened for the project in July 2019.
The work, which is part of the third and final phase of widening I-10, is expected to start in 2020 with construction going from Breaux Bridge to Henderson. It will take 3 years to complete, according to DOTD.
