OPELOUSAS, La. — The Veterans Memorial Committee in St. Landry Parish is remembering veterans who died in action during the Iraq-Afghanistan War.
On Friday, wreaths were presented to families in their honor.
Organizers say it's important to honor those who gave it all in serving our country.
"It means to them from us that we will never forget about them because that's what so important and every chance that we get," said Pat Mason Guillory, Project Manager, St. Landry Parish Memorial. "And we urge all Americans to thank the family members of those who lost their lives.
"Thank our service men to who serve in our country and who also serve," she added. "It means a lot to the family to know that we would take our time of the to do something like this."
