An Opelousas woman was arrested Thursday following an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct with a child under thirteen.
28-year-old Ashley Nicole Jones of Opelousas was arrested and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on July 25 on three counts of Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile.
Deputies say an investigation began on July 12 following rumors that Jones engaged in sexual intercourse with a child on three separate occasions. The sheriff's office says that those instances happened at Jones' residence in Opelousas between May and July of this year.
Detectives say that they spoke with the child and his father at the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office where the child allegedly admitted that the rumors were true.
During the investigation, it was uncovered that on the third encounter a video was made allegedly identifying Jones and the child having sexual intercourse.
Deputies say that several attempts to interview Jones during the investigation were unsuccessful.
An arrest warrant was obtained and she was taken into custody. Her bond is set a $15,000.
