The City of Sunset will have their water shut off beginning Thursday morning.
Town officials tell KATC that the water will shut off starting at 7:30 am on September 5 for work to begin on repairing a 8inch water line.
That work is expected to finish within the day and water will be restored to the town. Following the water being turned back on, the town will be under a boil water advisory.
Those affected are asked to boil their water for at least one minute before using the water for drinking.
Because of the repairs, Sunset Elementary and Grand Coteau Head Start will dismiss early. The school system says that The City of Sunset will do the repairs to the city’s water lines at 1:00 p.m.
Sunset Elementary will dismiss at 2:00 p.m. and Grand Coteau Head Start will dismiss at 1:00 p.m. Water will be provided to students due to the possibility of a boil advisory after the repairs have been completed.
