OPELOUSAS, La. - An Opelousas uncle and nephew are accused of attempted murder for a 2019 shooting.

Jalen and Alex Frank, both 22, were arrested in connection to a shooting incident that occurred on August 19, 2019, around 7:00 P.M. in the area of Estorage and Leblanc Streets in Opelousas. Jalen Frank is the nephew of Alex Frank.

Initial reports indicated that a suspect in a black vehicle was shooting at someone driving a red or burgundy vehicle.

Jalen and Alex Frank fired rounds at a vehicle that was occupied by at least one person, according to Major Mark Guidry, spokesperson for the Opelousas Police Dept.

Police say the victim in the case did not fully cooperate with the investigation.

They were booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail for attempted second degree murder.
