The Opelousas Police Department made two arrest Thursday in reference to separate shooting investigations.

The first shooting occurred on the afternoon of October 4, 2020 just before 7:00 P.M. Officers responded to several calls for multiple shots being fired from areas in the southwest center of Opelousas.

Upon arrival officers learned that the shooting involved two vehicles. It was reported that one vehicle attempted to cut off, block in another vehicle before a person in the aggressor vehicle got out and began firing what was determined to be a rifle caliber firearm at the victim’s vehicle.

Police say that evidence collected indicated the shooting happened in the area of South & Liberty Street. Rounds fired during this incident also struck a residence in the 400 blk. of W. Grolee Street which was occupied by two people.

Investigators identified a suspect, 19-year-old Mckey King of Opelousas as the suspected shooter and 18-year-old Quanderrick Bradley of Opelousas as the driver of the aggressor vehicle.

The victim indicated to officers that he was leaving from a residence in the 500 block. of E. Franklin Street along with a passenger when someone began firing shots at his vehicle striking him in the leg.

Police say the victim quickly drove away from the area before getting help and making this way to the hospital. The passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
