A teen is accused of attempted murder after allegedly firing a round of shots into a St. Landry Parish home.

On June 11, 2020, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office investigated a shooting in the 500 block of Fontenot Road near Opelousas.

The victim stated she was in her bedroom when she heard what appeared to be gunshots, according to the report. The victim exited her bedroom and observed holes throughout the residence. During the investigation, it was learned that a 16-year-old male juvenile and his vehicle were identified by witnesses and video surveillance. The investigation also discovered that juvenile committed the crime as a result of a previous altercation earlier that day with the victim's daughter, according to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz.

Detective located the juvenile and booked him on three counts of attempted second-degree murder.

In the residence at the time of the shooting were three occupants, ages 35, 17, and 15. No one was injured during the shooting.

Investigators estimate five to ten rounds were shot at the residence and more arrests are expected.
