A high school teacher in St. Landry Parish now has an extra fifty thousand dollars to add to his classroom budget.
David Reed is a career and technical teacher at Northwest High School in Opelousas.
Today, Reed was presented with a fifty thousand dollar STEM classroom makeover grant by Next-Era Energy Resources.
"We received the fifty thousand dollar grant from Next Era Energy. It is hugely important because we have robotics over here, we have E-Sports, computer science and all of that grant will be able to redo my whole classroom and just bring STEM to our kids. This money will go to them and my other programs that will help them be exposed to more STEM and technological resources," Reed said.
