The Summer Fly In & Vintage War Bird Expo is underway at the St. Landry Parish Airport. The event wraps up today at 5 p.m.
The expo began Friday.
The event, held at the St. Landry Parish airport, will feature vintage aircraft, airplane tours, food trucks, live music, classic car displays, and RC airplanes.
Among the aircraft are the CAF Gulf Coast Wing's B-17 Texas Raiders.
Howard Quoyeser, a crewman on the Texas Raiders, said, "Every place is different, and it's all fun. It's a great excitement. It allows us to bring forth the stories that we've been told by the World War Two generation."
"This is going to be a fantastic event not just for our airport but for the community as a whole. An event of this caliber with an aviation theme has not been done in this area in a while. This is a family event and we want everyone from all over to fly in or drive and see the B17 and other vintage aircraft," Airport Manager David Allen said.
