ST LANDRY PARISH, La. - Some students at Leonville Elementary toured the St. Landry Parish Airport on Thursday.
The students heard from pilots, saw airplanes up close and learned about aviation mechanics.
St. Landry Parish Airport is owned and operated by St. Landry Parish Government. The airport features one 6000 ft. runway and a secondary runway that is 4000 ft. in length. The airport has 36 based aircraft and is used for general aviation, private and corporate jets and EMS helicopters.
