ST. LANDRY PARISH — The St. Landry Parish school Board has has approved placing officers at schools in the City of Opelousas.
Monday night, the board tentatively approved putting a post certified officer as the school resource officer for all schools located in the City of Opelousas.
Opelousas Police Chief Martin McLendon says while the school board approved the measure, it still has to go in front of city council.
