The St. Landry Parish Veteran's Memorial in Opelousas will soon receive some much needed upgrades.
On Friday, a $25,0000 check was presented to the memorial by Bobby Dupre.
That money will go towards a new visitor center and for the maintenance and upkeep of the memorial.
"It's a place of education, it's a place of serenity, and the only way it can stay like that is with your help," said Pat Mason-Guillory, Project Director. "So, we are asking people to come out and help us."
