St. Landry Parish School District says they are back online after restoring internal internet connectivity.

The disconnect was due to growing cybersecurity concerns in the state. The school board shut off internet on Wednesday July 31, 2019. This shutdown was in accordance with instructions from the state.

Similarly, Lafayette Parish School System, went offline early this week for the same concerns. Several scheduled events, such as testing and orientations were canceled for the week.

The St. Landry Parish School District says the shut down only impacted internal use of the internet and did not effect access to the website by external users. Outside users were able to obtain school information and access JCampus systems to check student grades.

Phone systems remained functional and all school planned orientations and registrations are continuing as planned.
