St. Landry Parish president Jessie Bellard announced Tuesday that the parish's animal control is fully operational again.

Bellard says that an investigation by the sheriff's department into three employees found no criminal intent and was turned over to the parish's human resources office.

"We've made changes in the staff that allow us to begin serving our parish residents, again," said Bellard. "Our Animal Control department is fully operational and ready to take calls."

It is not immediately clear if the employees investigated have remained in their positions.

Citizens in need of animal control services should call (337) 948-6184.

On Thursday, the parish's animal control services were shut down as an investigation into three employees was handled. Details on that investigation were not provided.
