Officials with the St. Landry School Board say that a fourth-grade student was located safely on campus Tuesday after running away from a physical education class at Park Vista Elementary.
The school system says that during the incident, the school notified the 4th grade student's parents along with the central office.
The Opelousas Police Department was also called to help locate the child.
The student was found safely on campus.
SLPSB says that the school and the child's parents will be working together to prevent future situations.
