A Scott woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing over $45,000 from a Eunice business where she was employed.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says that 40-year-old Raegan Germaine Berard was arrested on Friday, June 5 following an investigation.

Deputies say the investigation began on December 30, 2019 after the business alerted the Sheriff's Office to the theft.

According to the department, the business owners provided documentation that Berard, who was employed as a Manager / Human Resource Officer, was allegedly misappropriating money from the company.

Deputies say their investigation revealed that Berard was allegedly stealing money from bank deposits and payroll garnishments.

Additionally, they say she was also allegedly making unauthorized purchases with company credit cards to buy groceries and fuel at various businesses, as well as allegedly making personal purchases for herself and her family on Amazon.com.

The total amount of money missing from the business is $45,012.27.

Berard met with detectives at the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office on June 5 where deputies say she was placed under arrest and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail for 3 counts of theft, and 4 counts of access device fraud.

Her bond is set at $19,000.
