The United Cajun Navy is partnering with several other community businesses and residents to host a food giveaway on Thursday, August 20.
New Life Church of God, St. Landry Parish District Attorney Charles Cravins, and United Healthcare are joining the effort to distribute produce boxes and milk in a drive-thru event.
The giveaway will last from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the New Life Church of Christ, 445 Campground Road, Palmetto.
Organizers hope to distribute 1,500 boxes of produce and milk to area families.
