Sheriff Bobby Guidroz confirms for us that the Walmart Distribution Center in St. Landry Parish has been evacuated as deputies search for armed robbery suspects.
Our crew on the scene has learned that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident. That person was found hiding inside an 18-wheeler shipping container.
Deputies say they are looking for a possible second suspect. It's possible that the suspect ran into the center, deputies say.
The Sheriff's Office says that following the alleged armed robbery, which occurred in Opelousas, the vehicle crashed in the parking lot of the Walmart Distribution Center.
Deputies are using the center's surveillance system to search for any other suspects.
