OPELOUSAS, La. — The Opelousas Police Department are investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting that struck a residence in the area near Melancon and Laurant Streets.
According to OPD, there was a shooting reported in the area, which resulted in a residence being struck by one projectile.
Police say that it is not believed that the residence was the intended target.
The residence was occupied at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured.
OPD say officers are following up on leads gathered after reviewing surveillance footage in the area.
