The St. Landry Parish Council has a special meeting and a regular meeting set for this evening.

The special meeting starts at 5 p.m.

On the agenda for the special meeting is an ordinance that would require all communication towers to obtain a permit from the council, an ordinance banning 18-wheelers from traveling on Flag Station Road and an ordinance that would move the Ward 6 Precinct 14 polling location from its current location at the Eunice American Legion to the Eunice Vocational Center, 421 South Tenth Street Eunice.

The regular meeting begins at 6 p.m.

On the agenda is an ordinance that would require anyone who wants to put more than two mobile or manufactured homes on one piece of property to get a permit from the council. Any locations that already have more than one home are grandfathered in, under the current ordinance language.

Also on the agenda is a resolution that would request an opinion from the Attorney General about how the costs for elections are supposed to be broken down. At issue is which governmental entity is responsible for which costs.

Both meetings will be held at the Old City Market, 131 W. Bellevue Street, Opelousas.
