An Opelousas woman helped out her community with a giveaway on Saturday.

Delita Rubin-Broussard and other volunteers stood the corner of Convent and Market St. this morning, giving away 156 free goodie bags and free masks to kids in the Opelousas community. The goodie bags included snacks, a toy, and a mask.

Kids could also snap a photo with Mickey Mouse, who helped Rubin-Broussard hand out the bags.

The giveaway started at 11 and continued until supplies ran out.

"It actually makes me feel good because I like helping people, especially the kids," Rubin-Broussard explained. "It actually makes me feel really good because I'm giving it with my heart."
