ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. - The Opelousas Museum and Interpretive Center invites Opelousas residents to share photographs of where they live.
Where We Live: Opelousas Neighborhoods is a project to document Opelousas neighborhoods through the lens of residents—recognizing beauty and character everywhere.
Locals are invited to share original photos of their neighborhoods. The images can be black and white or color, taken with camera or cell phone. Photos can portray anything in the neighborhood such as a family cookout, a barbeque stand, a grove of trees, a local church, children on a playground—anything that represents their own neighborhood.
If you would like to participate, go to the Opelousas Museum Facebook Page. Post your image on the timeline, or send to museum@cityofopelousas.com.
Be sure to include:
· name of neighborhood and nicknames
· why you took this photo
· your name
Beginning December 15, each week a selected photo will be featured on the Opelousas Museum Facebook page. All photos will also be available in the virtual photo album.
These are photos taken by area residents of their own neighborhoods.
