The principal at Opelousas Jr High School has been placed on leave as the school board investigates accusations of altering student grades
Superintendent of St. Landry Parish Schools Patrick Jenkins tells KATC that Dr. Monica Fabre is on paid administrative leave following those allegations. Jenkins says Fabre is accused of changing grades on student report cards.
Jenkins says they are looking at each students grades on a case by case basis and he will not discuss any further, citing this issue as a personnel matter.
St. Landry School Board member Hazel Sias of District 10 says that the board was informed on Thursday morning about the altered grades. The says that the board has very information on the investigation.

"I along with the rest of the St Landry Parish School Board was informed of this investigation by Superintendent Patrick Jenkins on the morning of May 28th, 2020 at 10:30 AM by electronic correspondence. At this particular time, I have been informed that the principal of Opelousas Jr High School, Dr Monica Fabre, has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is in progress. The St Landry Parish School Board has very little information concerning this investigation at this time."
Sias says that the St Landry Parish School Board will be working closely with Jenkins to ensure that "this investigation is resolved in a fair and transparent manner."
